Travel to Seattle, cross through Idaho and into the breathtaking mountain scenery of Montana. Dip down to iconic Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming before looping back westbound through Nevada. Take a breather in Reno, pass through the Sierra Nevada and Yosemite National Park before returning to San Fran. Day 1 San Francisco

Discover the beautiful Bay Area or perhaps visit San Francisco's premier attraction, Alcatraz.

Day 2 Mendocino

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and head north along the panoramic Californian coast to the historic seaside town of Mendocino.

Day 3 Redwood National Park

Redwood National Park hosts an impressive collection of coastal redwood trees, some of which are up to 2,000 years old.

Day 4 Crater Lake National Park

Travel through the rugged landscape of Six Rivers National Forest. Arrive at Crater Lake and take a walk to discover the best viewpoints from which to appreciate this unique phenomenon.

Day 5 Oregon Dunes

The massive Oregon Dunes are the largest expanse of coastal dunes in America. Opt to go exploring on a dune buggy ride.

Day 6 Silver Falls State Park

Choose from a variety of hikes among forested canyons to some of Silver Falls' many waterfalls.

Day 7 Mt St Helens

Drive through Portland to Mt St Helens, an active volcano that erupted in 1980.

Day 8 Mt Rainier/Seattle

Admire Mt Rainier - an active, glacier-encrusted volcano - en route to Seattle, the 'Emerald City'.

Day 9 Coeur d'Alene

Enjoy free time before crossing the state border into Idaho. Camp overnight near Coeur d'Alene.

Days 10-11 Glacier National Park

Pass through Idaho and into Montana to see captivating mountain scenery in Glacier National Park.

Day 12 Helena

Explore Helena, an old gold rush town, and camp overnight.

Days 13-14 Yellowstone National Park

Marvel at bubbling geysers and colourful boiling mud in Yellowstone.

Day 15 Grand Teton National Park

Travel into Grand Teton National Park and enjoy a picnic surrounded by spectacular scenery.

Day 16 Jackson Hole

Set in a valley surrounded by mountains, Jackson Hole is perfect for hiking or rafting.

Day 17 Craters of the Moon National Monument

Explore Craters of the Moon, home to lava fields and cinder cones, then camp near Twin Falls.

Days 18-19 Snake River Canyon/Lake Tahoe

Visit Snake River Canyon and see the Shoshone Falls. Spend the night in the stunning surrounds of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest before travelling to scenic Lake Tahoe.

Days 20-21 Yosemite National Park

Between blue skies and jagged peaks, Yosemite National Park is very impressive.

Day 22 San Francisco

Travel to San Francisco once again, where the Northwestern USA trip comes full circle.
