Day 1 New York

Always bustling and never boring, New York has earned itself the nickname, the ‘Centre of the Universe’. With so much to see and do, venture down to the Big Apple a few days early and check out everything from Broadway to Brooklyn.

Days 2-3 Washington DC

Pass through Philadelphia on route to Washington DC, the US’s vibrant capital. There are a plethora of museums and historic sights to explore including: the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building and the National Air and Space Museum.

Day 4 Appalachian Mountains

Leave the city behind and travel out to the picturesque Appalachian Mountains, also known as the Blue Ridge Mountains. Discover the jaw-dropping vistas of their highest and most scenic region - Shenandoah National Park.

Day 5 Nashville

Country music fans will be in their element in banjo-strumming, foot-tapping Nashville. Check out the Wildhorse Saloon, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Music Row, home to more than 50 of the city’s record studios.

Day 6 Memphis

The old stomping ground of legends like Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, Memphis is undisputedly the home of the Blues. Head down to Beale Street for a groove or trip out to Graceland to visit Presley’s former home and final resting place.

Days 7-8 New Orleans

Better known as the ‘Big Easy’, New Orleans is jam-packed with history, culture and personality. See how European, Creole and Cajun influences have impacted the city’s architecture, taste the deliciously diverse cuisine and hit Bourbon Street for a real experience of local culture.

Cowboy charm crossed with modern delights, Houston will make you want to don your nicest get-up, jump in your pickup truck and hit the town. Discover the city’s thriving arts scene, meander around the many museums or maybe venture out on a Tabasco tour.

Day 10 San Antonio

Join the truckers on Highway 10 to San Antonio, home to the world’s largest cowboy boots. Admire the Alamo, an iconic 18th-century Spanish-Mexican fort, and explore the city’s many canals and picturesque riverfront.

Day 11 Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Journey across the deserts of New Mexico to the intriguing Carlsbad Caverns National Park. One of the largest caverns in the world and home to a huge colony of bats, there are still unexplored pockets and tunnels in this remarkable region. Hike deep into the cavern’s ‘Big Room’ and see the spectacular limestone formations.

Day 12 Santa Fe

Renowned for its art scene, Santa Fe is home to a creative crowd. Be inspired by the city’s beautiful pueblo architecture, admire the south-western décor at the local museums or just sit, relax and soak up the artistic atmosphere.

Day 13 Mesa Verde National Park

Lose yourself in the history and beauty of Mesa Verde National Park. A true archaeological gem, the park is home to over 600 ancient cliff dwellings of the Anasazi Indians, some of which are the best preserved in the US. Take a short walk to one of the dwellings or trek out with a ranger and learn more about this incredible area.

If Monument Valley seems a little familiar, that's because this American icon has made its fair share of appearances on the silver screen – appearing in everything from old Westerns to Sci Fi.

Days 15-16 Grand Canyon

Discover why the Grand Canyon is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Over 1.5 km deep, this epic canyon was carved out by the powerful Colorado River. Perhaps head out for a hike on one of the trails or take a scenic helicopter flight over this impressive vista.
