New Orleans to Chicago, June 2014
I think Darin is a good guy, but compared to my further intrepid tour guides he was not really committed. We just saw him on travel days in the bus. He didn't join dinner with us or tried to bring the group together. He sent us emails instead of meeting with us in person, really sad.

New Orleans to Chicago, March 2014
I had a really great time. I enjoyed the people I was with, the things I saw, experiences I had. A very good tour. Graeme was/is a totally excellent leader. He is very personable, gets on with everyone. He reads the group very well, and having managed groups myself for years, I was able to see that he brought a great deal of experience and intelligence to this process. He was also expertly equipped with a vast knowledge of America and its many cities. He had answers to all our many questions (sometimes he had to get back to us with the answers, but there was always an answer). He had his finger on the pulse of where to find the best food (both fine dining and cheaper alternatives). He introduced us to each city's 'local' speciality and places where we had more nights he found good restaurants to provide variety. I am a music fan and was very appreciative of his wide knowledge of where to go to hear the best music each place had to offer – especially important on this very musical tour with its music cities. Graeme was very good at 'orienting' us to a place. He would provide maps and a general run down of how to get around, what to see etc, for each place. He also usually did a bit of walking tour when we would get to a city, which was orienting in its own right. He dealt really efficiently with all hotel check ins, most of which were complicated. Graeme is mostly unflapable. I only saw him flustered a couple of times in 20 days. That's pretty impressive. His even temperament is perfect for this role.
