Arrive early to walk down the star-studded streets of Hollywood and Beverly Hills or go shopping on Rodeo Drive.

Stop by some of the major attractions in San Diego such as Balboa Park and the historic Gaslamp Quarter or simply sun yourself on one of the golden beaches at Mission Bay.

Enter the scorching Joshua Tree National Park, home to a host of unusual plants including cacti, Mojave yuccas and, of course, Joshua trees.

Witness the gigantic red expanses of the Grand Canyon – a true monument of the gods. Perhaps take a helicopter flight to get a true sense of the canyon's incredible size.

Head west on the famous Route 66 and cross the Mojave Desert to reach the neon lights of Las Vegas. Dance with Lady Luck with a spin of the roulette wheel, catch a show or rub shoulders with A-listers at one of the many heaving nightclubs.

Feel the mercury rising while crossing through Death Valley, one of the hottest deserts on earth.

Travel onwards through the heart of the Sierra Nevada and enter into the wilderness of Yosemite National Park. Be awed by majestic waterfalls, giant sequoia groves and magnificent granite cliffs.

Arrive in the cultural melting pot of San Francisco. Catch a tram to visit the waterfront, feast like a king in Chinatown or peruse zany artwork in SoMa.

Amble along beach roads and spy surfers and sea lions enjoying the Californian coast. Enjoy a stay in Santa Barbara where rollerskating, bicycling, hiking, beach volleyball or just relaxing in the sun are all possible.

Take the scenic route along the coast back to the bright lights and fast pace of Los Angeles. Perhaps visit the famous Santa Monica Pier or go people-watching on Venice Beach.
