California Coast Southbound Itinerary

Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge on the way out of delightful San Francisco. Make a photo stop along the waterfront to capture the amazing bay and famous city skyline. Head south to Santa Cruz Beach and perhaps take a punt on one of the carnival games along the boardwalk. Admire the coastal views on the drive around the Monterey Bay area.

Travel south down one of the most scenic roads in the country, flanked by the vast Pacific Ocean on one side and the many delights of the Californian coast on the other. Be on the lookout to spot some local wildlife, including sea lions, birds and perhaps even a whale. Stop off in the charming fishing cove of Monterey Bay, spend time exploring remote beaches and savour tasty morsels during an included picnic lunch. Continue on to the San Luis Obispo area to bunker down for the night.

Rise early the next day and make tracks for the beautiful American Riviera city of Santa Barbara. There's free time here to simply relax on the beach. For those feeling energetic, why not take a stroll around Santa Barbara's picturesque streets and attractions. The Spanish missionary influence will be apparent in the red-tiled roofs and the whitewashed walls of the buildings here. It's then time to hit the road for the final destination on this trip, Los Angeles. A hub for dreams of fame and fortune, this sprawling city is a fascinating place to end this quintessential Californian adventure.
