Days 1-2 New York/Green Mountain National Forest

Start this adventure in the Big Apple, before hitting the road to reach the rugged hills, cold mountain streams and forested valleys of Vermont’s Green Mountain National Forest. Hike the Hopper Trail to reach the summit of Mt Greylock – the highest natural point in Massachusetts.

Days 3-4 White Mountains National Forest

Stop at Sugarbush Farm to sample some maple syrup, before reaching the ‘backbone’ of the northern Appalachians, White Mountains National Forest. Challenge yourself with one of the best hikes in New England on the trek to Lonesome Lake, and soothe sore muscles with a dip in the cool water.

Days 5-7 Baxter State Park

Tackle this dramatic segment of the Appalachian Trail on the way to the pristine Baxter State Park. The most secluded wilderness in the eastern United States, relax within the surrounding tranquillity. Those looking for an additional challenge should attempt the Mt Katahdin/Baxter Peak hike, a solid ten-hour effort that will be rewarded with an unmatched vista out across New England.

Days 8-9 Acadia National Park

Journey to the spectacular Acadia National Park, famous for its natural beauty, wildlife and incredible coastline. Enjoy plenty of time for hiking, mountain biking or sea kayaking around the rugged coastal scenery.

Day 10 Boston

Head south and follow the coastline all the way to Boston, one of the USA’s most historical cities. Perhaps stay on after the trip to walk the Freedom Trail, catch a baseball game or visit Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
