Days 51-52 Mexico City

One of the world’s busiest and most populated cities, Mexico City is a wealth of culture and history. Explore museums, ruins and art galleries by day, and buzzing restaurants and bars by night.

Days 53-54 Oaxaca

Rest those weary heads in a posada and wander the streets of this lovely, laidback colonial city, before heading off to explore the Zapotec remains at Monte Alban.

Days 55-57 San Cristobal De Las Casas

Admire brightly painted buildings while traipsing through the cobbled streets of charismatic San Cristobal, and cruise along the stunning Sumidero Canyon.

Day 58 Yaxchilan

Marvel at the awe-inspiring Mayan ruins at Yaxchilan and the impressive murals at Bonampak.

Days 59-60 Palenque

There are waterfalls to be viewed in Palenque, but even they pale in comparison to the sheer wow-factor of the famed ruined city.

Day 61 Merida

Soak up the colonial, artistic vibe of Merida, the capital of the Yucatan state, and make the most of the ample nightlife.

Day 62 Chichen Itza

A guided tour of Chichen Itza – one of the most spectacular Mayan sites in the area – will reveal the history of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Days 63-64 Tulum

Sleep under the stars on a remote beach on the Caribbean coastline. Fill the days with relaxing and swimming, and have enough time left over to visit the cliff-top Maya-Toltec ruins at Tulum.

Days 65-67 Caye Caulker

Relax in the sun and frolic on the beach on the Caribbean island of Caye Caulker – this slice of paradise is one of Belize’s most beautiful spots.

Days 68-69 San Ignacio

San Ignacio offers a fantastic opportunity to take part in some optional activities, including canoeing and mountain-biking.

Day 70 Tikal

Cross over into Guatemala where a guided tour of the incredible Mayan ruins of Tikal is definitely a highlight.

Days 71-72 Poptun

Stay on a working farm and experience a piece of local life in this small Guatemalan town.

Day 73 Livingston

Jump on a boat along the Rio Dulce and arrive in Livingston – a town with no connecting roads – and experience a destination that is unique even to Central America.

Day 74 San Andres Itzapa

Jump aboard another boat and travel along the Rio Dulce to arrive in San Andres Itzapa where we spend the night at a community project assisting victims of domestic violence.

Days 75-77 Panajachel/Lake Atitlan/Chichicastenango

Unwind on the shores of picturesque Lake Atitlan, and visit villages around the lake on an optional boat ride. Visit renowned and colourful Chichicastenango market and drop some pennies on local goods and produce.

Days 78-79 Antigua

Discover more of lovely Antigua. Feeling adventurous? Perhaps take up the challenge of trekking up Pacaya, the nearby active volcano.

Days 80-81 El Imposible National Park

Glimpse diverse flora and fauna in El Impossible National Park, keeping an eye out for pumas, tigrillos, and black-crested eagles.

Day 82 Cerro Verde National Park

Absorb intoxicating views of the surrounding volcanic countryside from the grounds of Cerro Verde National Park.

Day 83 Suchitoto

Stroll the cobblestone streets of Suchitoto and observe the abundance of gorgeous whitewashed houses.

Days 84-85 Copan

Cross into Honduras and weave through the astonishing ruins Mayan ruins of Copan.

Days 86-88 Roatan Island

Kick back in a posada on this Caribbean island paradise. Laze on the beach, swim in turquoise waters, or chat to locals in one of the many bars and restaurants.

Day 89 Lake Yojoa

Camp by the tranquil waters of Lake Yojoa, before leaving Honduras for Nicaragua the next day.

Day 90 Leon

Get a fascinating introduction to Nicaragua in the university town of Leon. With its colonial architecture clashing with graffiti and political emblems, this is a real culture hotspot.
