Days 1-2 Anchorage/Denali National Park

Set on the shore of ice-strewn seas to a backdrop of imposing white peaks, Anchorage is a city on the edge. Perhaps arrive a few days beforehand to explore the sights of Alaska's biggest city under your own steam, as this trip departs early on the first day for Denali National Park. Venture out into the wilderness on the lookout for wolves and grizzlies prowling the dramatic landscapes, then perhaps shoot the rapids with some whitewater rafting.

Day 3 Alaska Range

Snuggle down in a cabin on the Alaska mountain range. Take a walk through the tundra or perhaps throw a line into the crystal clear streams.

Days 4-5 Wrangell-St Elias National Park

Head into the high country of Wrangell-St Elias National Park. Marvel at massive glaciers and expansive ice plains, and search for moose and brown bears.

Days 6-7 Valdez

Admire the stunning natural scenery of Valdez or take to the waters by kayak in Prince William Sound.

Days 8-9 Kenai Fjords National Park

Catch a ferry over to Seward and perhaps opt for a cruise around the dramatic fjords and glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park.

Days 10-11 Kachemak Bay Wilderness Camp

Embark on your own sea odyssey to Homer on Kachemak Bay. Fend off the cold with some hiking, biking or kayaking, then be treated to a home-cooked local delicacy - salmon bake.

Day 12 Anchorage

Return to the secluded modernity of Anchorage, where this epic Alaskan Adventure finishes up. For those who haven't yet had their fill of nature, there are more than 40 wilderness parks in the vicinity – so take your pick.
