Snow-capped peaks frame Anchorage, a frontier city that looks out onto icy waters and is surrounded by stunning wilderness and alpine parks. Home to the massive Harding Icefield, the captivating Kenai Fjords National Park is dominated by ice-blue glaciers, pristine waters and countless species of wildlife and plants.
Snuggle down in a cabin on the Alaska mountain range. Take a walk through the tundra or perhaps throw a line into the crystal clear streams.
Head into the high country of Wrangell-St Elias National Park. Marvel at massive glaciers and expansive ice plains, and search for moose and brown bears.
The town of Valdez may be small in size, but it's enormous in stature with its importance as an oil and fishing town and its gorgeous surrounds.
