Day 1 New York

New York excites the senses with its mixing pot of cultures, artistic prowess, flashy commercialism and depth of soul that inspires everyone who visits.

Days 2-3 Washington DC

Awash with iconic buildings, political intrigue, absorbing museums and eclectic neighbourhoods, Washington DC is a compelling city to explore.

Day 4 Appalachian Mountains

Also called the Blue Ridge Mountains, the mighty Appalachians are a wilderness of ancient forests, jagged peaks and breathtaking scenery.

Day 5 Nashville

The undisputed capital of country music, Nashville is home to the famous Wildhorse Saloon and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Day 6 Memphis

Memphis is the home of the Blues. Its traditional music clubs were made famous by legends such as Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters and B.B. King.

Days 7-8 New Orleans

Known as the 'Live Music Capital of the World', Austin has a vibrant music scene and a wealth of live venues along its charming riverfront.

Day 11 Carlsbad Caverns

Carlsbad Cavern is a massive cave system containing many chambers (including the 8.2 acre 'Big Room'), rock formations and thousands of bats, which swarm out on summer evenings.

Day 12 White Sands National Monument

Rising from the heart of the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders - the glistening white sands of New Mexico's White Sands National Monument.

Day 13 Tombstone

Step back in time to a real Wild West town. Tombstone played host to many famous sheriffs, outlaws and the Shootout at the OK Corral.

Day 14 Saguaro National Park/Phoenix

Saguaro National Park is home to an iconic symbol of the American West, the Giant Saguaro Cacti, which can live to 175 years old. The largest city in the the American Southwest, Phoenix is a bustling metropolis in the middle of the desert.

Day 15 Monument Valley

Red-hued sandstone buttes rise strikingly from the earth in Monument Valley, the setting of many a western and home to the Navajo Nation Reservation.

Day 16 Lake Powell/Western Ranch

Controversially created in the 1960s, Lake Powell is now a popular holiday destination, consisting of 96 water-filled canyons, 3,150 km of shoreline and endless red-hued canyon walls.

Day 17 Grand Canyon

Words don't do justice to the Grand Canyon, a stunning 1.5 km deep gorge formed by over six million years of erosion from the Colorado River.

Days 18-19 Las Vegas

To witness the roll of the dice, the brightness of the lights and the general ostentatiousness of Las Vegas is a quintessential American experience.
