Take in the Australian Outback's wide open expanses and stupendous national attractions on this southbound road journey from Alice Springs to Melbourne. Hop atop a camel for a ride through the desert, become acquainted with the indigenous heritage of Uluru and go for a wander through marvellous Kings Canyon. Learn about opal mining in the rustic town of Coober Pedy, explore the spectacular natural scenery of the Grampians National Park and be totally engrossed by the ever-changing panoramas on display along the Great Ocean Road. Covering a considerable distance in a leisurely paced eight days, this adventure is just the ticket for those wanting to experience the rugged beauty of Australia's centre and coast.

The Uluru Safari adventure gets underway with a visit to the Outback Camel Farm. Why not get a new perspective of the Australian bush atop one of these 'ships of the desert'? Make tracks across the sunburnt plains to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), and enjoy a guided hike to uncover the legends of the nearby Valley of the Winds. A desert sunset over ancient Uluru (Ayers Rock) makes for a fitting end to a memorable day.
Wake to a vision of the sun rising up over magnificent Uluru. Learn a bit about the culture of the region's local indigenous population on a guided walk with a local member of the Mala people and drop into a Cultural Centre to peruse their traditional arts and crafts. Continue on to Kings Canyon for a night of camping.
Explore the deep natural gullies and rock walls of Kings Canyon. Trek through the Amphitheatre, the Lost City, Garden of Eden and North and South Walls, keeping an eye out for local wildlife.
Cross the Territory border into South Australia. Arrive in Coober Pedy and set out on a tour of the museum and underground mine of this, the world's opal mining capital.
Drive along the Stuart Highway, stopping off along the way for photo opportunities of the Central Australian salt flats. Pass the ‘rocket launching’ town of Woomera and break for lunch in Port Augusta before arrival in Adelaide.
Spend a couple of days getting to know Adelaide, Australia's self-proclaimed 'City of Churches'. Cross into Victoria and enter the Grampians National Park. Learn about the significance of the park to the local indigenous population at the Brambuck Cultural Centre and visit some waterfalls before bedding down in Hall's Gap.
View London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge and the iconic Twelve Apostles. Then just sit back and soak up the incredible views on offer along the Great Ocean Road. Spy koalas snoozing in their gum tree hideouts and take a break at legendary Bells Beach before the adventure winds up in Melbourne.
