Intrepid Foundation - Education
Roupa Suja Project (UMPMRS)
Working to improve the lives of the families living in the favela in the Roupa Suja neighbourhood, through education. Run by local residents, UMPMRS is providing supplementary education for the disadvantaged local children, family support, a women's group and vocational training in a challenged area of Rio.

Bay Area Wilderness Training
Bay Area Wilderness Training creates opportunities for urban youth to experience wilderness first hand and often for the first time. Operating out of the San Francisco Bay Area, BAWT supports teachers and youth workers with training, gear, funding and community support to help them get youth outdoors.

Braille Without Borders
This organisation aims to facilitate the integration and acceptance of the blind in Tibetan society by providing rehabilitation and education for blind children. In Lhasa, they have a preparatory school, medical massage training and a Braille printing press. At the vocational training centre and farm in Shigatse they teach skills including animal husbandry, market gardening, agriculture, cheese production, bread baking and kitchen management.
Prisoners Assistance Nepal
The children of female prisoners in Nepal are amongst the most vulnerable and socially excluded individuals. PA Nepal helps support the rehabilitation and integration of prisoners’ children, out of prisons and into the community after equipping them with self-sustaining life skills and education.
This relatively small non-government organisation targets disadvantaged children living in dangerous and vulnerable situations on the streets; living with their impoverished families and/or those required to work for a living. They help support access to appropriate educational opportunities, vocational training, and greater stability and security at home.

Saidia Children's Home
Providing a secure place for orphans and abandoned or abused children, this organisation offers a feeding and education program for children living in disadvantage, and support for HIV impacted mothers and their children in the Gilgil region.

Asha Ka Jharna
Providing essential services to disabled children and adults, this Rajasthan-based organisation assists disempowered people to feel part of their community. Vocational training, education, guidance and counselling all help to foster self reliance and confidence.

Fond Ohrozenych Deti (Fund for Children in Need)
Based in Prague, this organisation helps children and families in crisis by providing financial help, tutoring, housing and recreation activities. Staffed mainly by volunteers and part time staff, this not-for-profit group helps marginalised people who don't receive help from the government.

Providing skills, training, employment services and housing assistance, this organisation works to better the lives of disabled people in Xi'an by increasing the amount of opportunities available to this marginalised section of the population.

This proactive not-for-profit organisation helps the disadvantaged local community to live more independent lives. Art and craft workshops teach skills and foster employment options while public education projects enlighten the community about the ways in which people with disabilities can contribute to society.
