Day 1 Nairobi

Once a swamp but now called the 'green city in the sun', Nairobi is a relatively multicultural city with a range of cuisines, museums and cultural centres to enjoy.

Day 2 Nakuru National Park

Head to Nakuru and camp overnight on a dairy farm.

Day 3 Kericho

Take a morning game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park before taking an optional tea plantation visit at Kericho.

Days 4-5 Jinja

Located at the source of the Nile, Jinja offers some of the world's best whitewater rafting and plenty of other exhilarating activities for adventurers and adrenaline junkies.

Day 6 Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda - its goal is to build a sustainable population and relocate rhinos back to their original habitat.

Day 7 Kaniyo Pabidi Forest

Part of the Budongo Forest Reserve, Kaniyo Pabidi is an ecotourism site located close to the home range of a fascinating group of chimpanzees.

Days 8-9 Murchison Falls National Park

Uganda's largest national park, Murchison Falls is named for the dramatic waterfalls where the Nile plunges 43 metres from a narrow gap in the escarpment.

Day 10 Kampala

Once the heart of the Buganda Kingdom, Kampala is a fascinating place to explore on foot, particularly its many markets and craft shops.

Day 11 Lake Mburo National Park

Home to hippos, crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds, Lake Mburo National Park is also one of the best places to see the gigantic eland antelope.

Day 12 Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Bunyonyi - meaning 'place of many little birds' - has an amazing variety of waterbirds and some of the most picturesque scenery in Uganda.

Days 13-14 Ruhengeri/Gorilla trek

The small Rwandan town of Ruhengeri is the gateway to Volcanoes National Park, one of the last remaining sanctuaries for the mountain gorilla.

Day 15 Kabale

Cross back into Uganda via Cyanika.

Day 16 Queen Elizabeth National Park

Beautifully set between two lakes in the Great Rift Valley, Queen Elizabeth National Park plays host to a wide array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, Ugandan kobs and waterbucks.

Day 17 Mbarara

The university town of Mbarara is known for the local long-horned Ankole cattle and small-scale dairy farming.

Day 18 Jinja

Get comfy for a long travel day as we head for Jinja.

Day 19 Eldoret

One of Kenya's fastest growing towns, Eldoret is famous for its cheeses - the local factory produces more than 30 different types.

Days 20-21 Nairobi

Lively Nairobi is the gateway to some of Africa's best national parks and is nicknamed 'the safari capital of the world'.
