Day 1 Istanbul

Make your way to your joining hotel in Istanbul. Istanbul is a melting pot of cultures, with a history that dates back through countless civilizations. This evening is free for you to explore the city and enjoy some of the delicious food on offer.

Days 2-4 Goreme

Take to the streets for a guided walking tour of this unique city and visit some of its most famous sights. Situated on the Bospherous at the point where Asia meets Europe. You will then be transfered to the airport and take a short flight (1.5 hours) to Goreme in Cappadoccia right in the centre of Turkey famous for its 'fairy chimneys'. Whilst here take a walking tour of Goreme town and visit the open air museum. You also visit the amazing underground city of Derinkuyu. The city has up to eight different layers, there are 600 outside doors hiden in the courtyards above ground, and is still inhabited in parts to this day.

Days 5-6 Selcuk

After a flight across Turkey to Izmir its a short drive to Selcuk, where you stay for the next couple of days. Visit the amazing ancient ruins of the city of Ephesus. The Temple of Artemis once located here was one of the seven wonders of the world but sadly no longer exists. The remaining ruins of this Roman city are none the less impressive and your guide will bring the history of this once magnificent city alive. As you visit the huge ampitheatre, the Roman library and many temples you will get a grasp of its past splendour.

Day 7 Pamukkale

Your journey continues as you take in more of Turkey's incredible sights. Firstly, you drive to Afrodisias, where the Roman ruins include the huge Temple of Aphrodite before heading inland to Pamukkale, the name translates as 'cotton castle'. Here you will discover many terraces of white calcified rock pools which are filled with turquiose coloured hot water from underground springs - it does indeed resemble a unique kind of fairytale wonderland.

Days 8-10 Fethiye

You head down to the coast today for a change of scenery. The drive from Pamukkale to Fethiye takes between three and four hours as you head for the sea. Once here there are a couple of options available to you, depending on the weather conditions. You can take a tour to Saklikent Gorge, the second largest Gorge in Europe, at 20 kilometres long. Here walls of rock tower above you as you walk through the gorge. From here you head over to the ruins of Tlos, one of the principal cities of Lycia. Depending on the weather, you may instead take a boat trip out to Butterfly Valley. This beach is unspoilt and has a relaxed atmosphere which is a great place for you to relax and end your trip.
