Day 2 Douz
Begin the exhilarating trek in the bustling oasis town of Douz – gateway to the desert and not far from the immense salt lake Chott el Jerid. Explore the bustling town centre and investigate the Sahara Desert Museum – a centre dedicated to the preservation of the region’s nomadic people and their culture. Receive a lively introduction into the local traditions, before meeting the steed that will accompany you for the duration of the trek – a friendly camel to help lighten the load.

Days 3-6 Sahara Trek
For anyone that has ever fancied themselves as a bit of a Lawrence of Arabia, all your desert dreams will come to life on this four day trek through the vast Saharan Desert. Passing ancient forts, welcomed wells and ancient burial sites named ‘Koubbas’, every aspect of a quintessential desert adventure is well and truly covered. As the trek heads southeast, observe the striking colour of the sand dunes gradually change colour from white, to yellow, to deep burnt orange.
