Days 1-2 Rome
Gladiators, ancient icons and gelati. This exciting city has something for the whole family. Toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain to ensure your return, or watch for centurions outside the Colosseum. Try to make sense of 2500 years of history and have some fun along the way in the fascinating Time Elevator.
Days 3-6 Lucca (Pisa and Florence)
From our base in the medieval city of Lucca, explore the best of Tuscany. Get a bird's eye view of the town cycling around the ramparts. Tour beautiful Florence, a haven for art lovers and the perfect place to be introduced to the world's great artists. Don't miss the Uffizi - home to the world's greatest collection of Florentine art. Take a day trip to Pisa to see the world-famous Leaning Tower, Bapistry and Duomo.
Days 7-9 Levanto and Cinque Terre
Visit the Cinque Terre or 'five lands', a series of quaint villages connected by a coastal path. With olive grove-covered mountains on one side and steep cliffs plunging into the sea on the other, the views from the path are stunning and best experienced on foot. There is plenty of time to wander the villages, eat (more) gelato and have some seaside fun in the sun, before heading back to lovely Levanto for the night.
Days 10-11 Lake Maggiore and Stresa
By the shores of majestic Lake Maggiore, we find the charming town of Stresa. The scenery here is beautiful - blue waters, soaring mountains and plenty of woodland. Explore it first by boat then by cable car as we ride to the top of nearby mountains for panoramic views of the Italian Alps.
Days 12-14 Venice
With its maze of canals and lanes, Venice invites exploration. Take in the famous Grand Canal, Rialto Bridge and the Palace of the Doge. There is plenty of time to people-watch in the piazzas, peruse the old-world shops and simply soak up the atmosphere of this enchanting city; you might even choose to see the sights from canal level, from a ferry or gondola.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.

Fantastic! Trip of a lifetime. Nancy (our trip leader) was brilliant. She completely understood what would work for families and could not have been more helpful or professional.
