Day 1 Delhi
Bright colours, seductive smells and the mayhem of Indian life combine to make Delhi a fascinating city.
Days 2-3 Orchha
Stroll through rural areas largely untouched by modern life and explore the palaces and temples of Orchha. In the evening perhaps take in the puja ceremony at Ram Raja Temple.
Day 4 Khajuraho
See beautifully preserved ancient temples that blend the erotic with the sacred in their explicit carvings of the full Kama Sutra.
Day 5 Panna National Park
Explore Madhya Pradesh's countryside by foot or bicycle before setting out to Panna National Park to attempt a glimpse at the majestic, and often elusive, tiger. Stay in a natural lodge by the fast-flowing Ken River.
Days 6-7 Bandhavgarh National Park
Continuing on the tiger trail, head deeper into the jungle to Bandhavgarh National Park. As well as tigers there is an abundance of other wildlife to see.
Days 8-10 Kanha National Park
One of the most spectacular wildlife reserves in the world, Kanha is also the setting for Rudyard Kipling's much loved 'Jungle Book'.
Day 11 Agra/ Bharatpur
In Agra visit one of India's most iconic sights, the Taj Mahal, before jumping on a rickshaw to see the 16th century Red Fort. Stay overnight in Bharatpur for some early morning birdwatching at Keoladeo Ghana National Park.
Days 12-13 Jaipur
Travel deeper into Rajasthan to the ancient city of Jaipur, home to the pink sandstone Hawa Mahal. There is time to visit the Amber Fort and shop for gems, pottery and textiles in the bazaars.
Days 14-15 Delhi
Return to Delhi for a final look at the museums or maybe seek out some steaming hot curries.

These documents have been prepared by Intrepid staff to give you a brief introduction to the places you are visiting. We think it's important to understand the culture you are visiting, and the expectations of their society.
Intrepid is committed to a style of travel that is environmentally, culturally and socially responsible - we call this 'Responsible Travel'. Download this document and visit the About Intrepid section of this site for more information about how to be a Responsible Traveller.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.
Every day, hundreds of happy people return from Intrepid trips, and their comments are here for you to read. We do not screen the feedback on this site, all comments are posted here as they were written (unless they used inappropriate language).
The fellow travellers on this trip were the most difficult I have ever encountered on any Intrepid trip. If this had been my first trip I would be having second thoughts about further ones. I salute Shailendra for his continued patience in the face of so much personal and cultural disrespect.

A fantastic trip taking in the raw sights of India, very well organised. I definately feel i got loads out of just a two week trip - amazing!
Carrie Philpotts
We really enjoyed our trip and loved the mix of singles and couples, different ages and activities and free time - it was exactly what we wanted
Gemma Bracey
A mixed group-50%<35yrs; 50%>40yrs, and I was one of the oldest (54) so please take that into account! However the mix did NOT take away from my experience.
It was a challenging trip-lot of time travelling in busses, trains and jeeps and tut-tuts, hot and fast. Tiring. A fast tour leader, a little inflexible because "thats the timetable"-BUT he did listen!
