Day 1 Delhi
The starting point for an adventure, Delhi is a chaotic medley of bazaars, museums, temples, mosques and colonial buildings. Weave your way through the modern cars, rickshaws and bullock carts to experience fast-paced city life.
Day 2 Agra
Take a fast train to Agra. This former Mughal capital is home to some impressive buildings, including the romantic Taj Mahal and massive Red Fort, which dominates the skyline. The fort is a maze of halls, mosques, chambers and gardens which forms a small city in its own right.
Day 3 Bharatpur Heritage Stay
Explore deserted palaces and pavilions of the Mughal kingdom of Fatehpur Sikri, a perfectly preserved ghost town. Take a rickshaw through Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary to spot exotic species. Have an Indian cultural experience, visiting a rural village and enjoying an evening of music and dance.
Days 4-5 Jaipur
The pink sandstone Palace of Winds, the enchanting Amber Palace and lively streets of the Old City make Jaipur a colourful place to visit. This friendly town is brimming with palaces and bazaars full of jewellery, textiles and local art. Be sure to check out the latest Bollywood blockbuster, sitting back in the art deco splendour of the Raj Mandir Cinema.
Days 6-7 Delhi
Search for silk, hand painted textiles or folk art in the Jaipur bazaars, then head back to Delhi for a final taste of the bustling city. Pehaps indulge in a traditional aloo gobi, or seek out some of India's famous sweet treats from a foodstall. The National Ghandi Museum and National Museum are both well worth a visit, or explore the ruins of Qutb Minar and Purana Qila.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.

A well designed trip for travellers with only time for a week or two in India. Chandra was a great guide and he took all the hassle out of traveling in such a challenging country. Well done all around!

this was my first jump away from australia and it was too easy. chandra - leader - was excellent, taking care of the nitty gritty stuff like transport, accommodation and the best places to eat and see. saving money now to get back on the next one.
Nathan Brady
I had a wonderful time, and I learned a lot about India, which I have grown to love.
Pedro Mier
I had an amazing trip, but it was not what I was expecting. I was exoecting more of a backpacker tour with fellow students but actually found taxi rides and nice hotels, and very fancy restaurants which is really nice but not what it says in the notes. I did have a really good time however and felt fully supported and guided my leader.
Frances Edwards
My trip with Intrepid was absolutely wonderful. Being an single, female traveller I always felt safe which was my biggest concern when I left. It was such a great experience I can't wait to go no another trip.
