Days 1-2 Delhi
Discover the beating heart of Old Delhi, with its narrow streets bursting with stores selling silk, copper and spices.
Days 3-5 Jaisalmer
Experience nomadic life on an overnight camel trek through the Thar Desert. Eat local specialties and be seranaded by Rajasthani folk songs by the camp fire.
Days 6-7 Jodhpur
Take in views of the colossal Meherangarh Fort that dominates the skyline and wander among the fragrant spices, colourful vegetables and vibrant saris of the Sadar Bazaar.
Days 8-10 Udaipur
Chill-out with a chai in India's most romantic city. A centre for artists and musicians, the rolling hills and white marble palaces give Udaipur a very special feel.
Days 11-12 Pushkar
Mingle with holy men in magical Pushkar, a spiritual and mystical centre filled with ghats and temples.
Days 13-14 Jaipur
Colourful Jaipur is home to the whimsical pink sandstone Hawa Mahal, built to allow royal ladies to observe street life without being seen. To fully get into the culture of India, head to the cinema for a Hindi movie.
Day 15 Bharatpur
Head to the tranquillity of the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. If birds aren't your thing, visit the surrounding villages to see some development projects at work.
Days 16-17 Agra
Uncover hidden views of the amazing Taj Mahal and admire its elegant architecture. Don't forget to check out the Red Fort, another impressive landmark.
Days 18-20 Varanasi
The holiest place for Hindus, Varanasi is a city of temples and rituals that have remained unchanged for centuries. Learn the legends of this spiritual city.
