The Inca Trail is a moderate 4 day hike at high altitude.
The Inca Trail is closed during the month of February for it's cleaning and maintenance. This closure affects all trips in which the Inca Trail portion of the tour starts on or after the 01st of February to and including the 28th of February. Those affected trips will instead hike the Lares Trek.. For more information on the Lares Trek, please click on the below Inca Trail to Machu Picchu link.
Should you choose not to hike the Inca Trail, please advise us in writing at the time of booking, so alternative arrangements can be made. Without prior warning, local fees may apply.

Day 1 Lima
Visit the Plaza Mayor in the historic city centre and maybe stop in at the San Francisco Monastery, famous for its catacombs.
Days 2-4 Puno/ Lake Titicaca
Be welcomed into the home of a local family and enjoy a night surrounded by the big skies and interesting island cultures of Lake Titicaca.
Day 5 Cuzco
Travel to Cuzco across the spectacular altiplano.
Day 6 Sacred Valley
Stock up on coloured beads and ponchos at the colourful artisan markets of Pisac, one of the villages in the Sacred Valley.
Days 7-10 Inca Trail
Follow the ancient Inca route on a challenging, multi-day trek to discover the extraordinary 'lost city' of Machu Picchu.
Day 11 Cuzco
Rest weary legs at a cafe on Plaza de Armas and enjoy free time to relax or explore Cuzco's sights. See the Coricancha Inca temple complex or try an optional adventure sport for an action-packed day.
Days 12-14 Amazon Jungle/ Lima
Home to lush vegetation, monkeys and exotic birds, the Amazon Jungle is one of the wildest places on Earth. After a couple of days in the jungle, fly back to Lima for a night.
Day 15 Quito
Nestled in a long valley, Quito sits under the gaze of Volcan Pichincha. The Old Town is a great place to start exploring the city's many churches and historic buildings.
Day 16 Baltra/ Santa Cruz
Visit a private land tortoise sanctuary on this first stop in the Galapagos Islands, home to the unique animal life that inspired Darwin's theory of evolution.
Day 17 Floreana
See green (sand, that is) on the beach of Punta Cormorant. Cruise around the island to reach the Devil's Crown, a fantastic place to snorkel among colourful fish and sea lions.
Day 18 Espanola
Chill-out on a beautiful white sand beach. Take an optional hike along the clifftop before travelling to Punta Suarez on the western side of the island. Spend the afternoon watching sea lions at play in the turquoise waters of Gardner Bay.
Day 19 San Cristobal/ Santa Fe
Visit Santa Fe, a tiny island brimming with iguanas and sea birds, to learn about mangrove trees, and then maybe take a hike through a forest of prickly pear cactus.
Days 20-21 North Seymour/ Baltra/ Quito
Enjoy a last chance to see the birds of the Galapagos on Seymour Island before heading to Quito for a night on the town to celebrate your adventure.
