Days 1-2 Madrid and Toledo
Discover modern Spain with a visit to one of Madrid's many museums. Art buffs, don't miss the Museo del Prado, which houses over 900 years of art. Otherwise, seek out a bargain around the Puerta del Sol or kick back in busy Plaza Mayor, before experiencing old-world Spain on a day trip to the medieval city of Toledo.
Day 3 Cordoba
A melting pot of Muslim, Jewish and Christian cultures, Cordoba is a large and vibrant city. Be sure to visit the beautiful Mezquita; its golden arches and intricate columns will leave you in awe. In the evening, head to the Juderia for some great-value eateries.
Days 4-5 Seville
Bursting with historical sights, Seville is an elegant city known for its magnificent fiestas. It is also famous for excellent tapas, the world's largest Gothic cathedral and a host of beautiful gardens. Indulge in Moorish delights such as an Arab-style bath by day and enjoy concerts in the Reales Alcazares by night.
Days 6-7 Costa de la Luz
Cross the border to the British bastion of Gibraltar, home to both the famous Rock of Gibraltar and the Barbary apes. Afterwards, there is time to visit Spain's sandy beaches in nearby Tarifa for sun and surf, or take a day trip to the vibrant Moroccan town of Tangier in Northern Africa.
Day 8 Ronda
Leave the Andalucian hills and journey to Ronda, a whitewashed town split in half by a deep chasm. Both sides are rejoined by the amazing Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), one of the most photographed structures in Spain.
Days 9-11 Granada
A visit to the impressive Alhambra is a must. There's time to explore the old Arab quarter of Albaicin, with its maze of alleyways and sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada. For the best view of the sunset, head to the Mirador de San Nicolas, at the very top of the steep streets.
Day 12 Valencia
Birthplace of paella and home to the Holy Grail, Spain's third-largest city offers plenty to see and do. But before you venture into this vibrant city, make a stop at the morning market, and search for local breakfast delicacies such as tortillas or churros.
Days 13-15 Barcelona
The artistic heart of Spain, Barcelona is also a city that likes to party. Visit the Picasso Museum and Gaudi's eccentric Sagrada Familia Cathedral, enjoy some of the best shopping in Europe or just soak up the festival vibe.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.
