Having seen the best West Kenya has to offer, why not head out East and finish up on the beautiful coast on the Nairobi to Mombasa itinerary. (YOA)
Day 1 Nairobi
Welcome to busy Nairobi.
Day 2 Lake Naivasha
A short stop at a rural school is a chance to get to know some local kids. At Lake Naivasha, there's plenty of time to take in the beauty of the lake, admire its abundant birdlife and maybe even see some hippos.
Day 3 Lake Nakuru
From the shores of Lake Nakuru, look upon one of the most iconic images of Africa - thousands of pink flamingos frolicking in the water. Sightings of leopards, baboons and giraffes are likely on game drives through the park.
Days 4-5 Lake Bogoria/ Kerio Valley
Pass spouting geysers and bubbling geothermal pools travelling through the Lake Bogoria National Reserve. Listen out for the distinctive call of African fish-eagles before continuing on to the scenic farmlands of Kerio Valley.
Days 6-7 Kakamega Forest Reserve
Once part of the rainforest belt spanning the girth of Africa, this relatively small patch is all that remains. Be guided beneath the canopy of age-old trees and feast your senses on the exotic sights and sounds of this incredible eco-system.
Days 8-9 Kendu Bay Village
Stay among the friendly Luo tribe on a local homestay. Learn their traditional ways: crafting huts, ploughing fields with oxen and grinding meal with stone.
Days 10-12 Masai Mara
Venture into the swaying grasses of the famous Masai Mara at dawn and dusk, when shadows turn the savannah into prime hunting ground for Africa's big cats. A walk with the crimson-clad Masai warriors gives wonderful insight into their cultural traditions.
Day 13 Nairobi
Savour breathtaking vistas over the Great Rift Valley en route to Nairobi.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.

Overall we have thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Intrepid. The cultural aspect of the trip exceeded our expectations. We are so pleased we chose this trip over a more safari focused option that we had previously favoured.

On the whole the trip itinerary was excellent as it incorporated both wildlife and cultural experiences which was what we desired.
