We would like to advise that for the trip departing Berlin on the 22nd June 2008, the group will be staying in Bratislava instead of Vienna due to an accommodation shortage in the city of Vienna. At this time the EURO Football championships will be help in Vienna and therefore the city has been booked out completely. While at Intrepid we do make our accommodation bookings on year in advance, we have unfortunately been denied room availability at our hotel.
Vienna and Bratislava are approximately 1 hour away from each other with very easy and convenient transport connections.
The additional cost transport to and from Vienna daily will be included.
Days 1-2 Berlin
One of the most happening cities in the world right now, Berlin is home to vibrant nightlife, festivals galore and a pumping avant-garde arts scene. For an historic perspective, check out Checkpoint Charlie or fragments of the dismantled Berlin wall.
Days 3-4 Krakow
Beautiful Krakow still retains much of its courtly charm. Wawel Castle is a superb testament to a royal past, while Rynek Glowny remains one of the world's largest medieval squares.
Days 5-6 Prague
Take a walk through the Old Town, across Charles Bridge and into the Lesser Quarter, or be guided by your fancy in this magical city.
Day 7 Cesky Krumlov
Explore majestic Krumlov Castle and immerse yourself in the rich history of Cesky Krumlov, a pretty Bohemian town nestled in a bend of the Vltava River.
Days 8-9 Vienna
This city simply brims with culture. Art lovers will be in awe at the sheer number of quality museums. For history buffs, the story of the Habsburgs unfolds with a visit to Hofburg and the glorious Schonbrunn.
Days 10-11 Budapest
Cycle through historic Budapest for a close-up view of how capitalism has reshaped this former communist city, or wander along the Danube where funky bars emerge after dark.
Days 12-13 Bled
Flex your muscles in this picturesque lakeside town, rafting on a nearby river, canoeing on Lake Bled or cycling to the nearby Vintgar Gorge. If you visit the island at the centre of the lake, don't forget to ring the wishing bell.
Days 14-15 Venice
Be romanced by the Bridge of Sighs, the Basilica di San Marco, beautiful piazzas and palaces in this city of hidden treasures.

These documents have been prepared by Intrepid staff to give you a brief introduction to the places you are visiting. We think it's important to understand the culture you are visiting, and the expectations of their society.
Intrepid is committed to a style of travel that is environmentally, culturally and socially responsible - we call this 'Responsible Travel'. Download this document and visit the About Intrepid section of this site for more information about how to be a Responsible Traveller.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.
Every day, hundreds of happy people return from Intrepid trips, and their comments are here for you to read. We do not screen the feedback on this site, all comments are posted here as they were written (unless they used inappropriate language).
The stops on this trip are excellent. They provide a great overview of Eastern Europe and some exposure to different cultures.

Overall I was a little dissapointed in Intrepids involvement in this trip. Although I appreciate this was the first tour of the year I think that we paid a lot of money for what we recieved.
Emily Deane
Loved the trip. 2 things though: Last dinner was shared with new leader who was taking a few of us for the next leg -felt this wasnt the time and place.
Also, why did both leaders (i did 2 tours one after the other), plead us to give them 5s not 4s at the last dinner?? it was a little embarrassing. tell them not to do this and you might get more honest feedback?
Lucas Evans
Overall, the trip was fantastic and so was Stan. There were glitches and there were warnings about these since it was a new trip.

Sorry, only passengers from Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom are able to request flight quotes online at this stage.
