Days 1-2 Split
The impressive ruins of Diocletian's Palace have made Split famous. Explore this amazing, time-defying structure and learn about the cruel Emperor that created it. Otherwise, rub shoulders with the locals and bargain for lunchtime delicacies at the colourful markets just outside the palace walls. Stay in private homes with local hosts for a special chance to see what life is like in modern Croatia.
Days 3-4 Dubrovnik
Arrive in Dubrovnik after a spectacular coastal drive past vineyards, bays and olive groves. A walk along the famed city walls affords great views of the Adriatic Sea, and is the ideal way to warm up before leaving the Old Town to find that perfect spot for a refreshing swim. A visit to the attractive Onofrio Fountain and elegant Clock Tower is well worth it.
Day 5 Rovinj
Fly to the Istrian Peninsula to spend a night in charming Rovinj. Meander the Venetian-influenced lanes and cobbled squares of this tiny town in search of a delicious seafood meal. Spend the free afternoon relaxing on the beach for the last time before journeying inland, or visit the towering spire of the Cathedral of St Euphemia that dominates the skyline.
Days 6-8 Bled
Make a short stop in the walled town of Motovun to visit a culinary workshop and taste test the regional mouth-watering specialties of truffles and smoked ham. Then its onto Bled with its charming lake. A cable car ride to the top of Mt Vogel offers breathtaking views of the Julian Alps. Later, there is the chance to get active in Bled, where canoeing, caving and cycling are but a handful of the outdoor options available.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.

A great way to see and do a lot in just two weeks. I'm glad we did a "comfort trip", it was quite physical enough, we clearly aren't young backpackers anymore!
