Days 1-2 Prague
The jewel of the Czech Republic is a fantastic place to start our adventure. The City of a Hundred Spires has been home to rulers and archbishops for over a thousand years, and historic buildings are everywhere. Start exploring with a leisurely stroll across the elegant Charles Bridge. The bridge is about 600 years old and deserves a bit of exploration. Monuments, statues, views of the Vlatva River, not to mention musicians and artists all vie for attention. Once on the other side, take a tram uphill to Prague Castle. The castle has a fantastic collection of old buildings includeing the gothic St Vitus' Cathedral. Later visit a marionette theatre where traditional Czech puppets come to life.
Days 3-4 Cesky Krumlov
This charming town (pronounced Chess-kee Krum-lov) dates back to the 13th century but has enough to keep the modern family entranced. A cycle through the countryside offers you a close-up look of Czech rural life and maybe a riverside picnic. Back in town there is plenty to discover at the castle. Climb up a Rapunzel-style tower for some aerial views of the town or explore the castle's Masquerade Hall.
Days 5-6 Vienna
Our time in Vienna kicks off with a fun visit to the Prater Amusement Park and its distinctive ferris wheel. We also visit the majestic Schonbrunn Palace with it's wide, intricately sculptered gardens. If the family's feeling energetic, climb the 343 steps of the tower of St Stephen's Cathedral for views over the roofs of Vienna. Wherever you turn in Vienna there is an art gallery, museum or opera to see, but make sure you take time out to try the delicious sacher torte!
Days 7-8 Budapest
It's time to cruise the blue Danube. Jump on board for an overnight journey from Vienna to Budapest along the Danube River. Pass by castles and cathedrals, beaches and villages along the way and wave to Slovakia as you pass through the centre of its capital, Bratislava. In Budapest, a visit to the Seycheni thermal baths promises to leave you refreshed and ready to enjoy our final night.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
