Days 1-2 Hanoi
Warm up with a visit to imposing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex. There's time afterwards to cycle the 36 streets of the Old Quarter and flex bargaining muscles.
Days 3-4 Ninh Binh
Ride along rural roads to the ancient rainforests of Cuc Phuong National Park. Meet furry-faced monkeys at the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre before falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle.
Day 5 Hue
Hop into the saddle and see the many magnificent tombs, temples, palaces and pagodas this former imperial capital is packed with. This evening, why not indulge in a banquet and a local Huda beer?
Days 6-7 Hoi An
Conquer the 80 km long Hai Van Pass and be rewarded with stunning views of the coast. Continue working those legs, cycling to Cua Dai Beach or take the chance to rest in historic Hoi An.
Day 8 Kon Tum
Mingle with local Montagnards while riding off-the-beaten-track through the cool Central Highlands.
Day 9 Buon Ma Thuot
Knock back a ca phe sua da (iced coffee with milk) in the coffee capital of Vietnam - but be warned, it packs a real punch.
Days 10-11 Nha Trang
It's an easy roll downhill to the coastal resort of Nha Trang. Relax on a boat trip to offshore islands, read a book in the shade or let the hands of a skilled masseur soothe those muscles.
Days 12-13 Dalat
Take on winding mountain roads or take it easy and flag down a bus en route to delightful Dalat, in a region filled with fruits, flowers and coffee beans.
Days 14-15 Ho Chi Minh City
After a final cycling stint, it's on to exciting Ho Chi Minh City for a well-deserved feast.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.

Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable trip and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I would thoroughly recommend the active cycling trip through Vietnam. The ideal mix of exercise, activities, great people and really exceptional guide and other support staff. Ideal if you like a bit of a challenge but also want to soak up the history, culture, food, and great people in Vietnam.
