Day 1 Hanoi
Soak up the sights and scents of the Old Quarter or experience the city's spiritual side in its many temples.
Days 2-3 Halong Bay
Experience the splendour of Halong Bay, sailing past dramatic karst scenery. Spend a peaceful night on board our boat, enjoying the tranquility of this special part of the world.
Days 4-5 Hue
Discover Hue's regal past in the impressive Imperial Citadel or in its gourmet delicacies at Dong Ba Market.
Days 6-7 Hoi An
Once a prosperous river port, this captivating town is now a World Heritage-listed site. Stroll the ancient alleyways and shop for artwork, wood-carvings or a whole new wardrobe.
Days 8-10 Ho Chi Minh City
See the chaotic streets of Ho Chi Minh City on a cyclo tour and visit the War Remnants Museum. Later, cruise up the Mekong for a chance to experience the languid pace of Vietnamese village life. Stop in at a local house to try traditional specialties for lunch.
Days 11-12 Phnom Penh
Discover Phnom Penh's dark past in the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and in the notorious Killing Fields, a site marked by a memorial made of some 8,000 human skulls.
Days 13-15 Siem Reap/ Angkor Wat
The heart and soul of the ancient Khmer Empire, the temples of Angkor still evoke strong feelings of absolute awe in all that set eyes upon them. Bring your camera because these are some of the most photogenic structures you're likely to ever see.
Day 16 Battambang
Uncover the architectural legacies of French colonialism, learn the intricacies of Khmer cuisine or take a ride on the curious 'bamboo' train.
Days 17-18 Bangkok
Across the border in Thailand, there's time for a massage, spicy pad kee mao and a beer before saying goodbye.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.
Every day, hundreds of happy people return from Intrepid trips, and their comments are here for you to read. We do not screen the feedback on this site, all comments are posted here as they were written (unless they used inappropriate language).
