Don't miss out on the beauty of the famous Garden Route and continue your journey to Cape Town (UKG)
Days 1-2 Johannesburg/ Blyde River Canyon
Journey through Paradise Country, the Mpumalanga Province. Stop en route at the stunning Blyde River Canyon for extravagant panoramas of the region.
Days 3-4 Kruger National Park
The wildlife experience begins on passing through the gates of Kruger. An open vehicle night drive is a chance to see the savannah's most secretive animals. Then enjoy a traditional braai (barbeque) around a campfire. An early morning breakfast of rusks and coffee will kickstart a day of game viewing and bird watching.
Day 5 Hlane Royal National Park
Enjoy Swazi song and dance at a cultural village before continuing on to Hlane to track white rhinos on foot. Listen out for the rumbling roar of lions, the symbol of this tiny kingdom.
Days 6-7 Mozambique
Cross the border into Mozambique, home to 2,500 km of stunning sandy coastline with jade waters full of tropical fish. There's plenty of time here so dive in to explore the perfectly unspoilt coral reefs - and maybe even spot bottlenose dolphins.
Day 8 Hluhluwe/ St Lucia Estuary
Visit South Africa's most celebrated park - the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, home to the Big Five and a whole lot more. Spend the evening on the banks of Lake St Lucia, home to a remarkable diversity of species, from the world's oldest fish to the world's largest mammal - the coelacanth and the elephant.
Day 9 Durban
The inviting sands of Durban are the golden finale of this exploration.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.

Really enjoyed myself. The national parks were the best.

I have travel a fair amount and this was my first tour group and trip with Intrepid so was unsure what to expect. Overall it was an absolutly great experience - it was particularly good to have guides who had expensive knowledge of the wildlife. Great tour generally - some spectacular moments.
Peter Thomas
An excellent trip.
Sarah Sew Hoy
A beautiful country, but our expectations of meeting the locals (as with other Intrepid trips) were not on the whole fulfilled.
