Day 1 Cairns
Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns is a great base to begin your underwater explorations.
Day 2 Magnetic Island
Named for its 'magnetic' effect on Captain Cook's ship compass, this beautiful island is a haven for koalas and a vast array of birdlife.
Days 3-4 Airlie Beach
Explore the Whitsundays' jewels on foot or splurge on a helicopter tour of the archipelago, stopping on a secluded island for your very own slice of paradise.
Day 5 Eungella
Home to Australia's longest stretch of sub-tropical forest, the Mackay Highlands are home to cloud-shrouded mountains, magnificent gum trees and waterfalls. Stroll alongside forest creeks, because Eungella is one of the best places to spot the shy, odd-looking platypus.
Days 6-7 Outback Farmstay
Get real insight into rugged, rural life in the outback on an overnight stay at a cattle station. Learn to crack a whip, milk cows and discover the joys of a bush shower before falling asleep under the stars.
Day 8 Hervey Bay
Whale-watching and dolphin-spotting are the main seasonal drawcards in this thriving coastal town, while anglers will be pleased to know that the fishing around this tranquil haven is as good as it gets.
Days 9-10 Fraser Island
Hike across a colourful desert, have a game of beach cricket and enjoy a barbecue on this island utopia.
Days 11-12 Byron Bay
Famed for its relaxing ambience, golden sands and funky cafes, Byron Bay is a beachcombers' paradise.
Day 13 Myall Lakes
Featuring glassy freshwater lakes, towering dunes and gorgeous rainforest trails, Myall Lakes offers ample opportunities to bushwalk, swim or simply relax.
Day 14 Sydney
Explore one of Australia's most renowned wine-growing regions, the Hunter Valley, before heading to Sydney, the sparkling jewel in Australia's crown.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.

This Intrepid Trip exceeded all my expectations. The itinery was very varied and included the Aussie outback, sailing in the Whitsundays and exploring the unique Fraser island. Our leader grew up on the East Coast of Australia and his extensive local knowledge enhanced our experiences. His never ending enthusiasm and great organisational skills made for a relaxing yet fun trip. Would definetly recommend this trip as suitable for all age groups.
Julie Kearse
Perfect trip with a well travelled leader who had a wealth of local knowledge. There was an excellent variety of activities for all age groups. Ideal for those wanting to escape City life.
