Day 1 Christchurch
Known as the 'garden city', Christchurch has a distinctly English feel so start the adventure with a very English activity - paddling along the River Avon in a gondola! Perhaps join the locals for a picnic in the park afterwards. Cathedral Square is a popular place with local families and street performers and you may even catch a mime, juggling or singing show. Top off the afternoon with a visit to the International Antarctic Centre to get a taste of life on 'The White Continent'. You might even get to ride the all terrain Hagglund, a vehicle used to cross Antarctica's rocky terrain.
Day 2 Punakaiki
A train ride across the alpine backbone of the country delivers us from one coast to the other. Visit the famous Pancake Rocks in the seaside settlement of Punakaiki
Day 3-4 Franz Josef Glacier
Head down the West Coast to the spectacular Franz Josef Glacier. Clamp on some crampons and take a walk through a world of ice and rock on a guided tour of the glacier. There is plenty of time afterwards to kayak, hike or simply relax against the forested backdrop of Westland National Park.
Days 5-6 Wanaka
Nestled between the Southern Alps and a pristine glacial lake, Wanaka is a haven for windsurfing, rafting and canyoning. For a quirky alternative, tackle the maze at Puzzling World.
Days 7-8 Queenstown
Riding the Skyline Gondola for a postcard view of Lake Wakatipu is a must for any visitor. Others can hike by the lake, climb Queenstown Hill or seek an adrenaline rush with bungy jumping, jet boating or paragliding.
Days 9-10 Mt Cook
Be dwarfed by the awesome silhouette of Aoraki Mt Cook as you tackle one of the walks of the area. Get face to face with just some of New Zealands 40 million sheep as we visit a high-country working sheep station.
Day 11-12 Christchurch
Now's your chance to grab some last minute souvenirs of a fantastic adventure or take a final punt along the River Avon.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
