Day 1 Kathmandu
A vibrant travellers' centre for many years, there is plenty to do in Kathmandu. The city is a fascinating mixture of legend and modern development, with a rich artistic and cultural heritage.
Day 2 Nuwakot
Visit the historic village of Nuwakot and enjoy a stay on an organic farm. From the idyllically located old Newar-style accommodation, take an excursion to a nearby fort and a palace dating back to the 16th century.
Day 3 Syabrubesi
Travel by bus on rugged roads above the Trisuli River to Syabrubesi, the trailhead for treks into Langtang valley.
Days 4-14 Langtang
A deciduous zone rich in birdlife and flowers, the Langtang region is a stunning area to explore. It's also home to the elusive red panda so keep your eyes peeled. The first day of our trek is spent walking a steep uphill trail that becomes a more gradual incline.
Be captivated by jungle and river valleys, glacial scenery and rhododendron forests on this gorgeous trek. Discover ancient spiritual sites, such as the heavenly lake of Gosainkunda and a spot where Shiva is said to be sleeping. There is an optional hike to Lantang Glacier, or feel free to just roam around the village visiting the famous, half a century old, cheese factory. Spending time in small villages affords a chance to meet friendly Nepali locals. The trekking can be arduous but you will be rewarded with breathtaking sights at almost every turn in the lush valleys of Langtang.
Days 15-16 Kathmandu
Walk back to the road head at Sundarijal for a transfer back to Kathmandu, where there time for a final feast to celebrate the adventure.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
