Days 1-2 Ubud
Bali's cultural heart boasts a great array of galleries and shops for art lovers to explore. Trawl the Gianyar night market for delicious local food.
Day 3 Sidemen
Take a leisurely bike ride through back lanes, rice paddies and past beautiful temples - a great opportunity to meet the locals.
Day 4 Mt Batur
Sample a traditional 'bungkus' (take-away) lunch in the cool mountain air of Sideman before moving on to a small fishing village by Lake Batur.
Day 5 Banyupoh
Hike to the summit of Mt Batur in time for sunrise. Then trade mountains with the beach for a chance to snorkel, scuba or swim in pristine waters.
Days 6-7 Lovina
Laze at the beach or go in search of dolphins. Get off-the-beaten-track exploring fragrant coffee and clove plantations before taking a dip beneath a hidden waterfall on a half-day walk in Munduk.
Day 8 Ubud
Admire one of Bali's most beautiful temples, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, situated in the centre of a glassy lake, before travelling back to Ubud.
Day 9 Kuta, Lombok
Unlike its Balinese counterpart, Lombok's Kuta beach is relatively crowd-free. A bicycle is the best way to discover the superb surrounding coastline.
Day 10 Tetebatu
Travel to the hill retreat of Tetebatu, right in the heart of the island. With waterfalls, tobacco fields and a pleasant, temperate climate, be sure to take to the walking tracks.
Day 11 Sapit
Sitting in the shadow of Mt Rinjani, picturesque Senaru awaits. Explore tiny villages and markets before retiring to our friendly guesthouse overlooking the rice paddies.
Days 12-13 The Gilis
Away from the noise of modern life, and accessible only by boat, Gili Meno is the ultimate island getaway. Snorkel, dive or soak up the sun on the island's perfect beaches.
Days 14-15 Legian
Fly back to Bali for a final celebratory feast.

This is where you will find everything you need to know... from what's included to suggestions about what to take. This is also where you will find the most up-to-date itinerary and any late changes.
The Trip Notes provide you with a detailed outline of your trip itinerary, and important information like where to meet your group, what to pack, what's included, estimates of spending money requirements and much more. They make great reading.
These documents have been prepared by Intrepid staff to give you a brief introduction to the places you are visiting. We think it's important to understand the culture you are visiting, and the expectations of their society.
Intrepid is committed to a style of travel that is environmentally, culturally and socially responsible - we call this 'Responsible Travel'. Download this document and visit the About Intrepid section of this site for more information about how to be a Responsible Traveller.
Please also read our safety guidelines for further information on the operational safety standards you can expect on every Intrepid trip.
On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.
Every day, hundreds of happy people return from Intrepid trips, and their comments are here for you to read. We do not screen the feedback on this site, all comments are posted here as they were written (unless they used inappropriate language).
Fantastic trip with a good mix of active time and chill out time - climbing a mountain before breakfast and lying on the beach!

I was so pleased with how smoothly the trip went. There was no waiting around for our bus to turn up or times when i felt we were wasting the time we had in each of the places we visited. I was really pleased with the local knowledge of both of our tour guides. This made me feel at ease and comfortable which made me enjoy the trip even more.
