Day 1 Santiago
Arrive early and take the funicular up to the summit of Cerro San Cristobal for views over the city and Andes, or hang out in trendy Bellavista, a centre for restaurants, dancing and Chile's bohemian set.
Days 2-4 Puerto Montt
Fly south to Chile's beautiful Lake District. There are plenty of optional activities to make the most of the scenic grandeur. Take a day trip to the Chiloe Islands or strap on the boots and head to nearby Petrohue, from where you can hike in the hills surrounding the Orsorno Volcano.
Days 5-7 Chilean Fjords
Cruise through the remote fjords and channels of southern Chile, from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales. Snow-capped mountains, glaciers, marine life and even the odd iceberg line the way.
Day 8 Puerto Natales
Back on dry land, chill out in a cafe or spend the day exploring this port town, the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park and Patagonia.
Days 9-12 Torres del Paine National Park
The raw beauty of Patagonia can not be overstated. Hike and camp among the twisted peaks and smooth towers of the Torres del Paine National Park. See icy blue lakes and visit the spectacular French Valley and stunning Glacier Grey. The region is also home to some unique wildlife. Spot guanacos, Patagonian hares and the emu-like rhea.
Day 13 Punta Arenas
Celebrate a successful Patagonia adventure with some of the finest seafood in the region. Chile's southernmost city is just west of the Strait of Magellan, which until 1914 was the only safe route between the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. There is the opportunity to head out to the Strait to see penguins on the islands off Tierra del Fuego.
Day 14 Santiago
Our adventure ends at Santiago Airport. If you have time, return to the city and take the opportunity to visit the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombio, arguably the best museum in the country.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
