Want to discover Egypt but dont have enough time? Try our best selling Egypt Adventure (ESB)
Days 1-2 Cairo
The mayhem of Cairo, with its eclectic mix of ancient and modern, is a great place to kickstart this adventure. Take a deep breath when beholding the extraordinary Pyramids and Sphinx for the first time.
Days 3-4 Aswan
Nestled between the desert and the Nile, Aswan is an exotic gateway to the rest of Africa. Take time here to check out one of the country's best bazaars and hone your bargaining technique. Later, visit a local Nubian village for an unforgettable night of traditional food, song and dance.
Days 5-6 Felucca (Nile sailboat)
A felucca trip along the Nile is a highlight of any visit to Egypt. While drifting along, simply sit back and take in the sights of rural riverside life: tiny fishing boats bobbing on gentle waves, camels resting in the shade and little children swimming in the water. Enjoy meals prepared aboard by the cheerful crew before falling asleep under the stars.
Days 7-9 Luxor
Take a donkey ride to the ancient hieroglyphs and royal tombs in the spectacular Valley of the Kings. Explore the monumental temple complex of Karnak, and meet members of the Intrepid Foundation Animal Care Project, dedicated to improving the lives of working animals in Egypt.
Day 10 Cairo
Back in the capital, enjoy a guided walk through Islamic Cairo and bargain up a storm in the labyrinthine bazaar Khan al-Khalili, which sells almost everything under the sun.
Day 11 Mt Sinai
Travel through the Sinai region, watching as desert terrain turns into rugged mountains. Climb to the top of Mt Sinai for panoramic desert views (or ride a camel) and maybe make a visit to the legendary St Katherine's Monastery, built around the biblical burning bush.
Days 12 - 13 Nuweiba Beach Break
There is time here to snorkel and swim among breathtaking coral reefs. Stay in beach huts looking out to the mountains of Saudi Arabia, and in the evening, experience the hospitality of the Bedouin over a traditional meal with local friends.
Days 14-15 Cairo
Cross the famous Suez Canal on return to Cairo. An optional farewell dinner offers one last taste of local Egyptian favourites such as falafel and fuul.
