Days 1-2 Cairo
The never-ending stream of life and noise makes the capital of Egypt fascinating to explore. From here, the Sphinx and Pyramids are within easy reach.
Days 3-4 Aswan
Gracing the banks of the Nile, Aswan is a great base for explorations in the area. Consider visiting a nearby Nubian village for a delightful lunch of traditional delicacies and to check out the local swimming holes. Otherwise, a day trip to the fascinating temples of Abu Simbel is also possible.
Days 5-6 Felucca trip (Nile sailboat)
A Nubian crew provide food and song on this journey down the Nile on traditional feluccas. Watch river life in action and fall asleep on board, under the twinkling night sky.
Days 7-8 Luxor
Relive ancient times in Luxor. Wander through the temple complex of Karnak or travel by donkey into the open-air museum that is the spectacular Valley of the Kings.
Day 9 Alexandria
The Mediterranean city of Alexandria has played host to Cleopatra, Marc Antony and of course, its namesake Alexander the Great. Enjoy an excellent seafood meal here without worrying about your wallet.
Days 10-11 Siwa
This remote, exotic oasis is a lush paradise among the desert dunes. Explore the maze-like ruins of the mud brick fort or maybe take a dip in Cleopatra's bath.
Days 12-13 Western Desert
Experience the nomadic life of local Berbers on the windswept dunes of the Western Desert. Spend the night among the strange rock formations and moonscapes of the White Desert.
Days 14-15 Cairo
Return to Cairo for some last-minute shopping and sightseeing or join locals for a strong brew in one of the many cafes.
