Due to overwhelming feedback from previous customers that the trip to Nasser Dam was boring for children we have removed it from the itinerary.
The Sufi dancing show was originally listed for Aswan is now in Cairo on the Wednesday we return from Hurghada.
Due to safety concerns the Island temple of Philae with boat transfer is no longer an included activity. Instead we have upgraded the bus transfer from Hurghada to Cairo to a flight (25th Feb 2008).

If you wanted to see more of the facinating Middle East, we also have a Family Adventure in Turkey (RFT)
Days 1-2 Cairo
Savour that spellbinding moment when you and the kids first set eyes on the Sphinx. There's free time afterwards to explore wonderfully chaotic Cairo on your own.
Days 3-4 Aswan
Learn about the everyday life of a Nubian family with a visit to a traditional village. Wander the peaceful Kitchener Botanical Gardens. A camel ride through the desert and catching a traditional sailing boat for a trip along the mighty Nile make Aswan an activity filled treat.
Days 5-7 Luxor
When dusk falls, discover the ancient history of Thebes at a sound and light show in beautiful Karnak Temple. A donkey ride early the next morning takes us into the Valley of the Kings.
Days 8-10 Hurghada
The spectacular Red Sea coastline invites swimming, snorkelling and so much more.
Days 11-13 Cairo
Unlock the secrets of ancient Egypt at the Egyptian Museum, where the treasures of Tutankhamun tombs lie. Then pick up a trinket or two at one of the largest souqs in the Middle East before celebrating your adventure with a final meal at one of our favourite local restaurants.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.

Every day, hundreds of happy people return from Intrepid trips, and their comments are here for you to read. We do not screen the feedback on this site, all comments are posted here as they were written (unless they used inappropriate language).
The great advantage of an organised trip is fellow travellers and meeting more local people than you can travelling independently. Travelling with children, not having the hassle of finding transport and accommodation makes the journey so much more enjoyable.

The thought of travelling in Egypt, woman on her own, with 2 children aged 6 and 10 was daunting to say the least. The family tour was ideal, it was safe, flexible and fun. Really glad we came.
Karen Lloyd
Egypt Family Adventure was very suited to our family needs, in regard to itineray, flexibility and ethics. We mostly appreciated the professionalism of our Egyptian Tour Guide who could act as a brilliant bridge between cultures, great with kids, and who could be trusted to solve any difficult situations.
Corina Roe
Excellent trip for both culture and sites and great opportunity to spend time with ones child. The presence of other parents and children is a plus.
John Strang
We had a fantastic time on the Egypt Family Adventure trip, I went with my father and my 2 kids aged 6 and 9.
I'm a travel agent, so I now know I definately can recommend this trip.
