Day 1 Hong Kong
A fusion of east and west, Hong Kong is a glittering world of skyscrapers, shopping malls and electronic goods rising from the South China Sea. Dig a bit deeper and unearth fascinating markets, secluded beaches and serene temples. For those who arrive early make sure you check out the Temple Street night market and take the Star Ferry across the harbour.
Days 2-5 Guiyang/ Kaili
Immerse yourself in a world of colourful local dress, traditional architecture and the unique cultures of the Miao people on a three day adventure through the countryside of Guizhou Province. Trek past mountains and markets and spend the night in sleepy villages along the way.
Days 6-7 Kunming
Explore the alleyways and backroads of Kunming for a glimpse of the city's old-world character. Sample the delicious food of the 'eternal spring city' in one of the many markets.
Days 8-10 Sapa
In Vietnam we discover a strikingly different countryside to explore. Starting at the old French hill station of Sapa, trek through the extraordinary rural mountainscapes that are home to the colourful H'mong, Tay and Dzao people.
Days 11-12 Hanoi
An overnight train to Hanoi delivers us back to the fast pace of city life. The final day is free to wander the tree-lined boulevards, shop for mementos in the Old Quarter or top off the adventure with Hanoi's famous water puppet show.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.

good trip. Sapa was the highlight.

An incredible experience staying in a Miao village in China and also treking with the help of the Mong people through pouring rain and mud in the hills of Vietnam.
