Days 1-3 Beijing
Buzzing modern life and busy streets contrast dramatically with the timeless wonder of Beijing's ancient sites. There is plenty of time to explore the many faces of this amazing city, from the Forbidden City and Summer Palace to back-street hutongs packed with tiny local shops and eateries.
Days 4-5 Great Wall
Be amazed by the Great Wall. Walk along a remote section of this massive structure and spend the night in a simple guesthouse, perhaps rising early to catch a gorgeous sunrise.
Days 6-8 Xi'an
Formerly one of China's imperial capitals, there is much to see in Xi'an. Cycle around the Ming Dynasty city, admire the Great Mosque or meet local Hui people in the Muslim Quarter. Don't miss visiting the famed 2,200 year old Terracotta Warriors.
Days 9-11 Shanghai
Go bargain hunting in the busy Yuyuan Bazaar or shop till you drop in China's hippest stores. Perhaps catch an evening performance by the famous Shanghai Acrobats.
Days 12-15 Yangshuo
Dramatic limestone peaks and lush countryside are landscape features of the unforgettable Guangxi region. Take it all in on a fun cycling adventure.
Days 16-18 Longji Terraces
Hike through the magnificent Longji rice terraces that cling spectacularly to the side of 800-metre tall mountains, visiting local minority groups high up in the hills along the way. Stay in a traditional hillside village and attend a cultural show.
Days 19-20 Hong Kong
Get ready for some fast-paced action in Hong Kong. Take the cable car to Victoria Peak or enjoy a harbour cruise. Be sure to eat some tasty dim sum.
