Day 1 Kota Kinabalu
Welcome to Sabah, a place where ancient traditions and exotic wildlife continue to thrive. At the Monsopiad Cultural Village, tour the mystical House of Skulls and learn about ancient legends. The nearby islands are great for snorkelling among a wide variety of colourful fish.
Days 2-4 Kinabatangan Jungle Camp/ Homestay
Our local homestay provides the opportunity to interact with villagers and learn about their unique way of life and how they contribute to the preservation of the area's ecosystem at the same time. You'll spend a night camping in the jungle - spotting wildlife such as macaques, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles and rare wild elephants!
Days 5-6 Sepilok Orangutan Reserve
Learn about nature the fun way at Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned orangutans are cared for before being released back into the wild. You could also venture into their natural habitat on any of the walking trails or head into Sandakan and check out the local fish market.
Day 7 Kinabalu National Park
From city life to mountain life as we head into Kinabalu National Park. Stretch the legs and take in the mountain views along the walking trails at the base of Mt Kinabalu; keeping an eye out for monkeys and colourful birds.
Day 8 Pulau Tiga National Park
Enjoy an entire day of beachside bliss at our idyllic island getaway, snorkelling, swimming or simply relaxing on the sand.
Days 9-11 Kota Kinabalu
Choose your own adventure: go on a picnic on the nearby island of Dinawan, catch a steam train past water buffaloes and paddy fields to cosy little Papar or take a memorable horse ride along the beach.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.

GREAT TRIP - EXPERIENCE OF A LIFE TIME TRAVELLING WITH THE CHIDLREN. WE EMBRACED THE CULTURE AND LOVED THE VILLAGE STAY, THE MESCOT STAFF AND JUNGLE EXPERIENCE. HOWEVER, THE TRIP NOTES WOULD NOT HAVE PREPARED A FAMILY WELL ENOUGH FOR WHAT THEY WERE TO EXPECT - WE REALLY WENT WITH THE FLOW AND LIVING CONDITIONS AND LEARNT SO MUCH BUT OTHERS MAY FIND IT DIFFICULT TO ACTUALLY LIVE IN THEIR HOUSES - NEEDS MORE SPECIFIC INFO ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE HOME STAY - EVERYTHING ELSE GREAT. THANK YOU
Liz Phillips
