Train with Al Gore & help solve the climate crisis
As proud supporters of The Climate Project - Australia (TCP), Intrepid Travel is offering four environmentally-passionate people the opportunity to train with The Hon, Al Gore at the Asia-Pacific training to be held in Melbourne in July.
The Climate Project - Australia is Al Gore's climate change leadership program in partnership with the Australian Conservation Foundation.
You could be among 300 people from Australasia and the Asia Pacific region to undergo training from Al Gore and a panel of international experts on the relevant climate science and solutions needed to help avoid dangerous climate change. You will also develop the skills to inspire change in your networks and communities in this crucial year for climate change.
With the United Nation's Climate Conference in Copenhagen in December, the timing is crucial and we encourage you to apply and become a part of the solution.
At Intrepid Travel, we believe that climate change is the single biggest issue facing the world and that it is our responsibility to seek-out practical solutions to tackle it.
Over the past four years, we've reduced the emissions generated by our offices and introduced Carbon Offset Flights and Carbon Offset Trips. These are all important steps in realising our goal of becoming a carbon neutral company by 2010.
If chosen, you will be trained to become an effective peer-based communicator of the challenges presented by climate change and pathways towards solutions.
Training will take place in Melbourne on 11, 12 and 13 July. In addition to funding successful applicants' places at the Summit, successful applicants may apply for a travel scholarship from Intrepid Travel.
Approximately 1 in 72 Australians has seen a TCP presentation. Successful applicants must commit to delivering at least 10 presentations within a year of being trained.
Click here to apply. Applications close at 9am on Friday, 8 May 2009.
