Our People
Meet Tho Nguyen - Vietnam
What do enjoy the most about being a group leader?
Travelling broadens my knowledge and perspective because I get in touch with people from all over the world. I share and learn a lot from those people and discover more value of life.
To an outsider, it sounds like a bit of a holiday – what are the realities of life on the road?
It depends on our perspective. If we take thing easy and look at the bright side it's really a holiday. But it's also full of challenges.
What is your favourite travel destination and why?
Ha Long Bay, my home town was recently recognised as seven wonder of the world!
What is your favourite travel memory?
On my very first trip I told the group that it was my first and we had a lot of fun because I felt like I was exploring as a tourist too. We still keep in touch - in fact two of them came to visit me in 2009 and brought toys for my son.
If I were hungry in your region, where would you take me to eat?
I am very happy to take you to my house to cook a real Vietnamese meal for you or I would take you to a street stall where they serve crab noodle soup. It is a specialty of my home town, very healthy and inexpensive.
