Meet Michael Zheng - China

Yunnan Province has the most beautiful mountain views and some of the most vibrant minority groups.

To an outsider, it sounds like a bit of a holiday – what are the realities of life on the road?

It’s tiring but happy, changeable but colourful. It’s also my working life, but lots of fun!

What led you to becoming a leader?

I am active, I am full of enthusiasm and I really like travelling. Sharing my experience with people from all over the world became to my dream when I first met westerners in Beijing in 1998. It is a great job!

Is there one ‘real life experience’ that stands out for you?

Have you heard of fried scorpion? Can you imagine the whole group was eating it together? A bit scary - but awesome!

What is your favourite travel destination and why?

Yunnan Province has the most beautiful mountain views and some of the most vibrant minority groups, each with a different culture.

Any famous/interesting/notable passengers/anecdote?

Therer are too many. Come to China on my trip and I will tell you in person.
