What do you get the most out of being a group leader?

I have HEAPS of friends, from everywhere around the world! Also the experience I get from working with Intrepid and the support they give me with my career.

To an outsider, it sounds like a bit of a holiday – what are the realities of life on the road?

Each trip is a great experience, but the reality is you need to worry about your group and sometimes face a few problems. Although, as professional leaders we follow steps to avoid this as much as possible.

Is there one ‘real life experience’ that stands out for you?

There couldn’t only be one. The most important thing is how we always interact with the local people as a part of the itinerary - it's not just left to chance.

What tip would you give to someone who’s seeking ‘real life Experience’ while travelling?

Take the experience as it is – don’t make comparisons between this culture and your own.

If I were hungry in your region, where would you take me to eat?

Koshary or falafel and beans and for sure. I might even ask my mother to cook the yummiest Egyptian food for you!!
