Days 1-2 Singapore
Welcome to the modern metropolis of Singapore, a city with a cultural heart beating underneath a shiny exterior. Perhaps explore the sights of Little India, wander the noisy streets of Chinatown, shop in towering shopping centres or relax with a Singapore Sling in the calm oasis of The Raffles Hotel.

Day 3 Melaka
Travel to Melaka, Malaysia's famous port town. Melaka's heritage architecture, delectable food and cultural mix of Portuguese and Malay makes it a fascinating place to explore.

Days 4-5 Kuala Lumpur
Make tracks to Kuala Lumpur city. A fascinating blend of Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures, this city is full of life and is a foodie and shopper's paradise. There are lots of things to do in Kuala Lumpur - perhaps explore the Petronas Towers, slurp some noodles in Chinatown, climb the 272 steps to the Batu Caves or wander through the Bird Park.

Days 6-7 Taman Negara National Park
Visit what is believed to be the oldest rainforest in the world at the Taman Negara National Park. Explore the lush jungle walkways, marvel at towering trees and perhaps wander the jungle at night in search of long-nosed tapirs on a guided walk.

Days 8-9 Cameron Highlands
Travel into the beautiful Cameron Highlands, an old colonial hill station area famous for its tea. Escape the heat of the lowlands, enjoy the serenity and partake in one or two cups of its famed brew.

Days 13-15 Krabi/Ao Nang Beach
Sun-seekers will fall in love with Krabi's unspoilt beaches; the spectacular limestone cliffs will tempt avid rock climbers, while scuba fans can embark on a Krabi diving adventure.Perhaps take a day trip to stunning Phi Phi Island or just soak up the spoils of this island paradise.

Days 16-17 Khao Sok National Park
Travel into the verdant Khao Sok National Park. Spend a night in a rustic hut amid ancient gnarled rainforest trees. Explore this dense and mysterious jungle on foot before cooling off underneath a waterfall.

Travel north towards the Thai capital of Bangkok, and spend a night camping under a star-filled night sky along the way.

Step into the chaos of Bangkok's busy streets. Get lost in the maze of markets, visit gilded temples or take time-out for a well-earned massage in the exuberant Thai capital.

Travel to the entertaining border city of Aranyaprathet

Days 22-23 Battambang
Battambang is a real rural gem full of well-preserved villas and shop houses clustered around a lazy riverbank. Enjoy the slow pace of life here, and check out a nearby floating village before venturing onward to the capital of Cambodia.

Days 24-25 Phnom Penh
Reflect on Cambodia's years of war at the Tuol Sleng Museum and head out to the notorious Killing Fields.

Days 26-28 Siem Reap/Angkor Wat
Travel from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap where a visit to the city’s old market is a must. Wander through the stalls and surrounding shops and haggle for bargains in the form of silks, sarongs, silver and statues. Marvel at the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, one of the most visited sights in South East Asia. Be blown away by the sheer magnitude of these grand ruins, outlined against a bright orange sunset.

Day 29 Aranyaprathet
Head back across the border into Thailand.

Day 30 Phi Mai
Get a glimpse of the Thailand of old, a country where rice fields run on as far as the eye can see and discover that Thailand's classic hospitality and enthralling culture is very much alive and well here. Explore Phi Mai, one of the country's best surviving Khmer temples.

Days 31-32 Vientiane
Farewell Thailand and travel into Laos. Come face-to-face with the fusion of Asia and Europe in Vientiane, a relaxed city with friendly inhabitants and plenty to see and do.

Days 33-34 Vang Vieng
Chill out in Vang Vieng, enjoying the dramatic limestone surrounds. Mountain biking and cave exploring are two popular optional activities here; however, tubing in Vang Vieng has become somewhat of a pilgrimage for backpackers - and it's certainly a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Days 35-37 Luang Prabang
Head north and absorb the air of quiet romance in Luang Prabang. This delightful city has plenty of well-preserved wats (temples) that are worth visiting, and climbing to the top of Phu Si at sunset is also well worth the effort.
