Tell us about you

Originally born in country NSW I have always had a love of the natural environment and travel. Whether it’s camping, hiking or exploring an unknown city I love to become immersed in new cultures. I have a keen interest in sustainable travel and environmental protection and have been lucky enough to spend time studying in Vienna. I love the excitement of leaving for an adventure and not knowing what’s in store!

Favourite travel destination and why

Petra, Jordan. It definitely should be on everyone’s bucket list! The beautiful rose sandstone city is on an epic proportion and it really does make you feel like you’re on your own Indiana Jones Adventure!

How many countries have you visited?

50+, its hard to keep track!

Most recent adventure

I spent the majority of 2012 travelling around our amazing country Australia. In particular I loved the beautiful scenery while working on the Tuna farms in Strahan Tasmania, assisting with whale research on the Dampier Peninsular North of Broome and discovering the diversity and beauty of the ecosystems in far North Queensland.

Best travel memory

Fishing of the cliffs of the beautiful West Coast of Ireland. There’s something about Ireland which is just magical! I love the stunning, lush green tones of the landscape and feeling like you’ve stepped back in time.

Best travel tips

Don’t be afraid to try new things and talk to the locals! It’s also important to take advantage of opportunities which may arise even if they aren’t what you planned!

Favourite food experience

Sampling the delicious coffee and Baklava in Istanbul!

Any advice for people considering embarking on the trip of a lifetime

Just do it and don’t hesitate.

My favourite quote would be, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do" (Mark Twain)

Which country is next on your list to experience and why

I love Alpine environments and hiking and therefore Nepal is definitely on my to-do list! Everest Base Camp seems like a suitable challenge!
