Enjoy a stroll along Negombo beach to see the daily catch drying in the sun before enjoying a feast of fresh seafood.
Day 2 Dambulla Caves / Giritale
Marvel at the sacred Dambulla cave temple and its remarkably well-preserved Buddhist murals and statutes en route to Giritale.
Day 3 Polonnaruwa
Explore the ruins of Polonnaruwa to discover ornately decorated palaces and its famous reclining granite Buddha.
Day 4 Giritale
Keep an eye out for wildlife during a leisurely bike ride through the Minneriya National Park. Enjoy scrumptious local fare for lunch.
Day 5 Sigiriya / Kandy
Dramatic, flat-topped Lion Rock dominates Sigiriya's forested countryside. Magnificent 360-degree views from the palace atop the summit make the steep climb worthwhile. Afterwards, learn about the medicinal and culinary uses of spices on a visit to a spice garden before continuing to Kandy.
Day 6 Kandy
From the colourful highlands capital, join pilgrims as they visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. Learn about fast-paced, traditional Sinhalese dancing under instruction from a local teacher. Perhaps then go on an optional whitewater rafting adventure.
Day 7 Nuwara Eliya
Journey by train through Sri Lanka's highlands; travel past rolling green hills, pine forests and tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya. Spot monkeys on a visit to the delightful Hakgala Botanical Gardens and learn about tea production at a tea plantation.
Day 8 Embilipitiya
The cycling adventure continues through Sri Lanka's picturesque countryside, rich with incredible scenery and stunning viewpoints. Arrive in the oasis of Embilipitiya for a relaxing afternoon.
Day 9 Udawalawe National Park
Embark on a game drive through the spectacular Udawalawe National Park to search out elephants, leopards, buffalo and deer. Afterwards, enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Elephant Transit Home where orphaned elephants are returned to the wild.
Day 10 Mirissa
Relax on the beach and take a dip in the calm, clear waters of Mirissa. Perhaps hire a bike, take a cooking class or go whale watching.
Days 11-12 Ahangama / Galle
Take a short trip to the colonial city of Galle or watch surfers tackle the breaks on the beaches at Ahangama.
Day 13 Negombo / Colombo Airport
This adventure ends on arrival at Colombo Airport - or if staying on after the trip, there's the option to continue to Negombo.
