Travel from Zimbabwe to Botswana and into South Africa

This short but exciting trip combines three of southern Africa's most phenomenal sites: The Chobe and Kruger National Parks and the breathtaking Victoria Falls. Vic Falls to Kruger Summary

Days 1-2 Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is a town on the Zimbabwean side of the falls, with spectacular views and a reputation as the adventure capital of Zimbabwe.

Day 3 Chobe National Park

With a diverse range of ecosystems, a humungous number of elephants and the largest concentration of game found in Africa, Chobe National Park is safari heaven.

Day 4 Palapye

Located close to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary and the Moremi Gorge, Palapye, is a large town with a some good eateries and interesting ruins.

Days 5-6 Kruger National Park

Created to control diminishing animal numbers due to hunting, Kruger National Park became official in 1926 and is now deservedly one of Africa's premier safari parks.

Days 7-8 Greater Kruger/Johannesburg

In 1993, Kruger National Park and the Associated Private Nature Reserves removed their fences to create the Greater Kruger National Park, with over 20,000 sq km under its protection. It doesn't always have the best reputation, but Johannesburg has fascinating, vibrant places to explore like Soweto, Alexandra, Rosebank Flea Market and its wonderful museums.

    CHANGES TO THE TRIP FOR 2013:

    For 2013 we will be rerouting the itinerary to remove Palapye and adding in a night in Nata and Blouberg. Passenger feedback indicated that Palapye was not a highlight for most. This change also means that travel days are not as long.

    The new Itinerary will be:
