Day 1 Johannesburg
Touchdown in Johannesburg and take in the urban sprawl of this intriguing city of contrasts. Head out to the township of Soweto for an educational and inspirational tour of one of the city’s most well known areas.

Days 2-3 Mkuzi Game Reserve
Rise early and venture out into the heart of KwaZulu Natal to a permanent campsite in Mkuzi Game Reserve. Embark on the first of many exhilarating game drives through the wilderness, and swing by a popular waterhole where many animals come to quench their thirst.

Days 4-5 Kosi Bay
Pay a visit to a traditional Zulu village and explore the area with a local guide. Then, make a beeline for the coast to the Kosi Bay Nature Reserve where there are lush jungles, tropical mangroves and diverse coral reefs to discover.

Days 6-7 Hlane National Park
Arrive in Swaziland and head to the home of the country’s largest population. While on safari in Hlane National Park, keep eyes peeled for grazing elephants, rubber-necked giraffes and two-toned zebras!

Days 8-9 Kruger National Park
Skip back across the border into South Africa and travel to the country’s ‘big daddy’ of national parks, where all the members of Africa’s ‘Big Five’ (lions, leopards, buffalo, rhino and elephants) can be found, as well as over 500 bird species and 100 reptile species.

Days 10-11 Blyde River Canyon
Walk through the spectacular Blyde River Canyon and perhaps take an optional tree canopy walk or hiking excursion.

Day 12 Johannesburg
Return to the city where this epic family adventure wraps up.
