Day 1 Terchova

After reaching this small friendly town from Vienna, be welcomed to the mountains’ rustic traditions with a hearty meal around an open fire.

Day 2 Janosikove Diery Canyons

Trek past the waterfalls and gorges of this wonderful national park, crossing wooden footbridges to observe the flora and fauna and to make the most of the wonderful mountain views. Change the pace this afternoon and gain a different perspective on rural activity by learning to milk a cow and make cheese.

Day 3 Orava River / Vloklinec

Float gently down the scenic river on a fun-filled rafting excursion. After arriving in the picturesque World Heritage site of Vloklinec, look around this fascinating and intact example of a mountain village, complete with traditional log houses.

Day 4 Dobinska Ice Cave / Spissky Hrad / Levoca

Delve into one of Europe’s largest ice caves to explore a hidden area quite literally frozen in time. Warm up exploring the imposing hilltop castle of Spis Castle and visit the medieval town of Levoca.

Day 5 Hrebienok

Head higher up the mountains with a funicular ride to this small ski resort. From here, there are some tremendous mountain walks to enjoy, passing waterfalls along the way.

Day 6 At leisure

Take advantage of the mountainous playground on this free day. For active families, why not hire a mountain bike and head off into the hills in search of more stunning viewpoints. Alternatively, for the chance to relax, a visit to the mineral-rich thermal pools for a swim in its warm waters may perhaps be a more restful alternative.

Day 7 Bratislava

Catch the train to the Slovakian capital to stroll around its picture-postcard streets and soak up its rich heritage.
