Itinerary

The best beer and culinary tour in Prague! Let us lead you on this tour of the most reputable – though not always the most beautiful – beer sanctuaries in the city. A local tour guide leads the excursion as tram and Metro rides, visits to five beer halls, five beers (0.3 L) and one meal are included in the price.
While appreciating the high quality of Czech beer, you will also hear stories about exciting moments in the country’s history. During the tour you will be able to enlarge your beer mat collection and even buy beer cosmetics.
We will begin our tour at the statue of the Czech patron saint, King Wenceslas, on top of Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí). It was here where many demonstrations took place during Communism and the Velvet Revolution in 1989 that brought down totalitarian rule.
We will take a tram and arrive at U Sadu beer hall. Prague beer fans have voted this pub the most popular in the city. This beer hall is located in the Prague 3 Žižkov district, where there is the biggest density of pubs in the city and where there are not many tourists. The beer hall offers more than ten kinds of beer. Choose from the most famous Czech brands and lesser-known brands from small Czech microbreweries, and sample one Kozel beer. This brand ranks as the most exported Czech beer. Or choose one small beer by Svijany or Primátor.
Next, we will take the metro back to the Old Town and visit U Pinkasů beer hall, the pub where the first Pilsner Urquell draught was tasted in 1843. Sample Pilsner Urquell from a tank (not keg), which means that the beer contains less CO2 and therefore has much better taste; abroad, you will hardly get this kind of beer. Included in the tour is one local meal of traditional Czech beef goulash with dumplings or a vegetarian option and one Pilsner Urquell beer. Before you leave this pub you will learn the story behind the “Pinka´s nightmare”.
After sampling the world-renowned Pilsner Urquell, we shift gears and head to two local microbreweries, one of which was founded in 1466. Steeped in history and local stories, you’ll be entranced by the history and samples included at these stops, and even grab some beer cosmetics to take home with you!
The tour is not over yet. Next, we clear our heads with a walk to The Pub where customers can tap their own beer! One glass of Gambrinus Excedent (0.3 l) is also included in the tour. We will either finish the tour at this pub or take you to the Old Town Square around the corner.
As there are too many high quality beer halls to fit into one tour, at the end of the excursion you will be given a map of Prague denoting other renowned pubs.
